Kavisha Mazzella

KAVISHA MAZZELLA - - Born in London England, to an Italian father and Anglo Burmese mother and migrating to Australia in the early sixties, Kavisha is an ARIA Award winning musician and singer who crosses musical boundaries and create community experiences in her shows. She makes passionate, life-affirming music which is an energetic fusion of her own original music and traditional folk music in which you can also hear echoes of Italian, Country, Celtic and Gypsy styles....

Besides being a prize winning singer songwriter ,Kavisha has a passion for italian folk music and has been studying it informally for the last 30 years. She collaborates with many artists in theatre projects,teaches workshops in voice in Italy and Australia and has been the musical director of the Melbourne's vivacious "La Voce Della Luna" Italian Womens choir for the last 15 years.

In 2008 Kavisha was a recipient of the Victorian Governments Multicultural Awards for Excellence for her contribution to Community Arts. Kavisha is also a founding member of I Viaggiatori (the travellers) which is an old time italian folk band which has recently released their first cd" Suitcase Serenata"
