Tony Eyers

Dr Tony Eyers is a Sydney based harmonica player, teacher and web developer. He is the creator of Traditional Music.org.

Tony started harmonica in the 1970's, inspired by Jim Fitting while studying at Yale. After graduating he returned to Australia and fronted Adelaide's leading blues band for many years. He also developed a new harmonica style based on the fiddle tunes in bluegrass and Irish music, using retuned diatonic harmonicas.

Tony has performed at the SPAH harmonica convention in the US, the 2008,2010 and 2012 Asia-Pacific Harmonica Festivals, the 2009 Highlands Harmonica Festival, and many Australian festivals.

Tony is the founder of the Harmonica Academy teaching site. He also founded the Chinese Harmonica University site, www.kouqin.com.cn (kouqin in the Chinese pinyin word for harmonica). This site has over 70000 members.
